Rule IV:   y/ie - replacement

 IV.Abbreviation:y, ie
  Description: Replacement of "y" with "ie" for verbs that end on "y"
  Example verb: 5.to fry
  Application: - the verb ends on "y"
  - the preceding character is no vocal
  - in "Indicative, Present, Singular III", "Indicative, Past", as well as "Past Participle" the "y" becomes an "ie"

 Validity:Present:Singular III
  Past: all forms
  Imperative: -
  Present Participle: -
  Past Participle: always
 
  Examples: Present, Sing III: "he fries", not "he frys"
  Past: "he fried", not "he fryed"
  Past Participle: "fried", not "fryed"
