Administer irregular verb-infos, general

Activating the function: menu "Edit", "administer irregular verb-infos"

Coniuno recognises most irregularities automatically when conjugating verbs. However there are certain verb-particularities that cannot be covered by the program and which due to this cannot be recognised automatically (e.g. the definition of strong verbs or verbs that are conjugated like "finir" or "finire"). These properties are defined with help of the function described in this chapter. When conjugating a verb, Coniuno checks these verb properties and works with default values in case no further information for a verb was found.

If you want to train an entirely new verb, then you have to store it in (at least) one of the training-verbsets and if necessary, indicate additional information for conjugating the verb here. Coniuno already provides broad lists of such verbs. However, it can happen that for entirely new verbs these settings need to be completed first.

Coniuno stores the verb-properties of a language in the textfile "coniuno_settings.xyz". "xyz" here means "ger" (German), "dut" (Dutch), "eng" (English), "fra" (French), "ita" (Italian), "por" (Portuguese), "spa" (Spanish), respectively "lat" (Latin). If you are working a lot with own verbs (and due to this with changed, own verb-properties) then it is recommended to perform backup-copies from time to time. You can find the settings-files in Coniuno's installation directory (usually C:\program files\Coniuno).

Hint: You can also do backup-copies using the import- export-functions.

Language-specific settings

Administer irregular verb-infos

In the upper area of the "administer irregular verb-infos" screen you'll find two combo-boxes, which can be used to choose the wanted language and the wanted verb-properties of a language. Coniuno loads all available verbs connected to a verb-property in the table located further below. After starting the function, per default the current training language is loaded. Please note that a change of the language here does not change the current training-language. This is only possible using the Menu options, general. Please note also that changes to the lists only take effect after you have stored the changes.

Right beside the two combo-boxes located is the text-area "info". Here a short message is displayed that provides further information regarding the respectively selected language-property.

Hint: per verb-info list a maximum of 2500 entries can be stored.

The status-bar finally informs about the current total number of verbs in the training-verbset as well as whether changes have been done to the verbset ("mod"(ified)).

Operating the module from the main program's symbol bar

For editing the verbsets from the symbol bar a number of functions is available. These functions are:
