Group II.b (ui-oo-o), Rule II.b, Conjugation

Rule II.b: Group 2b, strong verbs with pattern "ui-oo-o"


 II.bAbbreviation:ui-oo-o (#2b)
 
Description: "ui" for "oo/o" substitution for strong verbs, whose verb primitives end on "ui" and that are followed by one arbitrary consonant.
 
Example verb: 4.sluiten (strong verb)
 
Application: -the verb's verb primitive ends on "ui" and is followed by a consonant.
-the "ui" is replaced by a double, respectively single "o", e.g. "wij sloten", not "wij sluitten".

Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):-
 
  Applies for (strong verbs):
OTT (Present): -
OVT (Past): Singular I-III (oo), Plural I-III (o)
Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):always (o)
 
  Example:
OVT (Past):weak: "bruisen" => "ik bruiste", not "ik broost"
OVT (Past):strong: "sluiten" => "ik sloot", not "ik slootte"
 
Detection: Verbtime detects "ui-verbs" automatically as strong verbs. If a verb shall however be built weak/regularly, then it must be included in the list of strong verbs (ignore).
