Group V.a (e-a-e), Rule V.a, Conjugation

Rule V.a: Group 5a, strong verbs with pattern "e-a-e"


 V.aAbbreviation:e-a-e (#5a)
 
Description: "e" for "a/e" substitution for strong verbs, whose verb primitives end on "e" and that are followed by one consonant.
 
Example verb: 8.geven (strong verb)
 
Application: -the verb's verb primitive ends on "e" and is followed by one consonant.
-the "e" is replaced by "e", respectively "a", e.g. "wij gaven", not "wij geefden".

Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):-
 
  Applies for (strong erbs):
OTT (Present): -
OVT (Past): all forms (a)
Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):always (e), usage of "en", not "d/t"
 
  Example:
OVT (Past):weak: "telen" => "ik teelde", not "ik tal"
OVT (Past):strong: "geven" => "ik gaf", not "ik geefde"
 
Detection: Verbtime does not detect "e-verbs" automatically as strong verbs. If a verb shall be built strongly according to these rules, then it must be included in the list of strong verbs.
