Rule V.b: Group 5b, strong verbs with pattern "i-a-e"


 V.bAbbreviation:i-a-e (#5b)
 
Description: "i" for "a/e" substitution for strong verbs, whose verb primitives end on "i" and that are followed by one consonant.
 
Example verb: 9.liggen (strong verb)
 
Application: -the verb's verb primitive ends on "i" and is followed by one consonant.
-the "i" is replaced by "a", respectively "e", e.g. "wij lagen", not "wij ligden".

Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):-
 
  Applies for (strong verbs):
OTT (Present): -
OVT (Past): all forms (a)
Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):always (e), usage of "en", not "d/t"
 
  Example:
OVT (Past):weak: "klikken" => "ik klikte", not "ik klak"
OVT (Past):strong: "liggen" => "ik lag", not "ik ligde"
 
Detection: Verbtime does not detect "i-verbs" automatically as strong verbs. If a verb shall be built strongly according to these rules, then it must be included in the list of strong verbs.
