Group VI (a-oe-a), Rule VI, Conjugation

Rule VI: Group 6, strong verbs with pattern "a-oe-a"


 VI.Abbreviation:a-oe-a (#6)
 
Description: "a" for "oe/a" substitution for strong verbs, whose verb primitives end on "a" and that are followed by one consonant.
 
Example verb: 10.varen (strong verb)
 
Application: -the verb's verb primitive ends on "a" and is followed by one consonant.
-the "a" is replaced by "oe", respectively "a", e.g. "wij voeren", not "wij vaarden".

Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):-
 
  Applies for (strong verbs):
OTT (Present): -
OVT (Past): all forms (oe)
Imperatief: -
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):always (a), usage of "en", not "d/t"
 
  Example:
OVT (Past):weak: "maken" => "ik maakte", not "ik moek"
OVT (Past):strong: "varen" => "ik voer", not "ik vaarde"
 
Detection: Verbtime does not detect "a-verbs" automatically as strong verbs. If a verb shall be built strongly according to these rules, then it must be included in the list of strong verbs.
